I (Ash Wanders) created a sound bed upon which a recording of Anna Feord's new poem recitation could be edited over the top.
I think i got the first few seconds leading up to and including the first few lines of the poem correct. quite cinematic !
it gets progressively more tribal, atmospheric and experimental throughout
The noticeably atmospheric sound was a microphone i pointed out the window and then placed some echo / delay on it and the proceeded to sweep through all the frequencies from 1K through to 8 K making it focus in on different sounds so it comes off a bit like Pink Floyd meets wind. Talented clarinet player Mary Jones is featured here. percussion involved two maracas pounding carpet and a metal childrens tambourine alternately through a timed delay other atmospherics include sampled orchestral sounds and recorder played through pitch shift and 'shimmer' sound FX. I love this track, especially Annas narrative
